"Visiones de Ultramar. Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros" (Opening programme of the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao)
As part of its opening programme, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao shows more than 150 works from the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, dating from the 17th to the 20th century: paintings, drawings, prints, maps, books and photographs revealing how artists and travellers saw Latin American landscapes. Highlights include landscapes by Frans Post and publications by Alexander von Humboldt, arranged in six thematic sections. Curated by Estrella de Diego and sponsored by Fundación BBVA, the show closes with Asier Mendizabal's installation "El orbe según la colección J.L". From 6 October 2026 to 21 January 2027, Wednesday to Monday 10:00-20:00; closed Tuesdays.
