"Production and experimentation in contemporary ceramics: clay, form, glaze and fire"
BilbaoArte in Bilbao hosts a contemporary ceramics workshop of eight weekly 2.5-hour sessions, from 17:30 to 20:00, running from 7 October to 25 November 2026. The first half focuses on form: wedging, modelling, building and plaster moulds for slip casting. The second covers finishes such as glazes, engobes and terra sigillata, how to apply them, and kiln firing. It is aimed at artists with a demonstrable professional career; no prior ceramics experience is needed, though a sculpture-related practice is valued. Price: €150, €75 for BilbaoArte users, free for resident artists. Applications close on 16 September and participants are selected.
