"On Being Human. An exploration of the human condition"

An exhibition in Bilbao, running from 16 June 2026 to 16 June 2027, that grew out of a close reading of the collection and its recurring focus on the body and the portrait, in both figurative and abstract work. Here the body becomes a territory shaped by historical, political and emotional tensions. The works touch on power, violence, memory, migration and identity, alongside quieter themes such as fragility, beauty, everyday life, decline and repair. Rather than offering answers, the show invites visitors to explore different ways of being in the world and to see being human as a process of constant change.
