Nautilus (permanent exhibition and guided tours)

Nautilus, the geological interpretation centre of Mutriku, explains how this area formed millions of years ago through the rocks of the Black Flysch, the oldest in the Basque Coast UNESCO Geopark. It displays a major collection of fossils found in this flysch, most of them from the private collection of Jesús M. Narvaez Amasorrain and Esperanza Azkarraga, gathered over 40 years and shown thanks to an agreement with the town council. The centre belongs to the Basque Coast Museums Network. Guided tours lasting about an hour run at 12:00 and 17:30 during opening hours, and the price includes admission. Schedule on request.
