Exhibition "Trames. Obres tradicionals i creacions contemporànies americanes"

From 18 September 2026 to 25 April 2027, Barcelona's Museu Etnològic i de Cultures del Món hosts an exhibition curated by Estela Ocampo that explores the cultures of the Americas through their art and belief systems. Works by six contemporary artists are paired with pieces from the museum's collection, showing how traditions both endure and change. The central theme is weaving patterns: the lines of Andean pieces, kené, the interlaced geometric designs of Shipibo-Konibo textiles and ceramics, and the threads linking heritage objects with today's creations. Open Tuesday to Saturday 12:00–19:00, Sundays and holidays 10:00–20:00, closed Mondays except holidays. General admission €3, reduced €2.10.
