Exhibition "Onde atopar un refuxio" — Alexandre Folgoso

Centre Cívic Can Basté in Barcelona hosts this free photography exhibition by Alexandre Folgoso from 17 September to 7 November 2026. Using glass plates hand-coated with silver gelatin and turned into orotones, a 19th-century technique, the artist builds neoclassical-style portraits that place queer subjects at the centre. Fragile glass becomes a metaphor for vulnerability as opposed to hegemonic masculinity, while nature appears as a place of belonging and refuge, echoing queer ecologies and María Zambrano.
