"Ocells-estels" exhibition

The atrium of MACBA's Meier Building hosts three reconstructions of sculptures from Aurèlia Muñoz's "Ocells-estels" series (1982), one of her most iconic, as part of the Aurèlia Muñoz Year marking her centenary. The pieces hang high and interact with natural light, as the artist intended, so that they soar above places and people and expand the space. The series was shown in 1982 at Madrid's Palacio de Cristal and Barcelona's Drassanes Reials, and in 1983 at the 11th International Tapestry Biennial in Lausanne.
