"Emancipacions" exhibition

From 8 October 2026 to 7 February 2027, Fundació Foto Colectania in Barcelona offers a fresh reading of its collection, curated by Florian Ebner, head of the Photography Department at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The exhibition traces two emancipations: that of Spanish society, which left a paternalistic model behind and moved towards modernity after the Second World War and the end of Francoism, and that of photography itself, which evolved from an informative role in small formats to ambitious, large-scale, more contemplative images. Open Wednesday to Saturday 11:00–14:30 and 16:00–20:00, Sundays 11:00–15:00; closed on public holidays. General admission €5, reduced €3 for students up to 28, over-65s and other groups.
