Exhibition "Contrainformació: Video-nou / Servei de vídeo comunitari" — The gesture of filming. Video in the MACBA Collection
MACBA in Barcelona presents an exhibition on the Video-Nou collective, active in Catalonia from 1977 to 1983, which during Spain's Transition used video as an experimental tool for political intervention and counter-information, challenging media still shaped by Francoist structures. The show also follows its transformation into the Servei de Vídeo Comunitari, where images were part of an ongoing process of sharing and discussion within the community. Runs from 9 July 2026 to 11 January 2027; closed on non-holiday Tuesdays. Tickets: 15 € at the box office, 13.50 € online, free for MACBA Friends.
