Exhibition "Arxiu Icària.Poblenou 1987-1992"
La Virreina Centre de la Imatge in Barcelona hosts a free exhibition revisiting the archive of photographer Martí Llorens, born in Barcelona in 1962. Between 1987 and 1992 he recorded the transformation of the former industrial area around Avinguda d’Icària and the building of the Olympic Village for the 1992 Games. Held by the cultural association Factoría Heliográfica, the collection includes artistic and documentary photographs, plans, documents and objects salvaged during demolition. The show centres on the disappearance of a territory and the rise of a new model of city. Open 31 October 2026 to 28 March 2027, Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, 11:00 to 20:00.
