Pamplona Encounters 2026: "November", Hito Steyerl

As part of the Pamplona Encounters 2026, the Polvorín at Arma Plaza in Hondarribia presents "November" (2004), a video work by Hito Steyerl running just over 25 minutes, in colour and black and white, with sound. The artist examines the role of images in revolution through the story of her friend Andrea Wolf, who joined the Kurdish liberation movement in Turkey. The piece weaves together Kurdish television footage, scenes from an amateur film the two friends shot as teenagers, Bruce Lee film clips and Steyerl's own narration, touching on gender in political uprisings and the aesthetics of protest. On loan from the Museo Reina Sofía. From 2 October to 15 November 2026, free admission.
