"The riparian forest: river protection and wildlife refuge", exhibition by URA

From 8 September to 31 October, the Ekoetxea in Azpeitia hosts this touring exhibition by the Basque Water Agency URA about riparian forests. Photographs, infographics and drawings, spread across 24 panels on six 2 x 2 metre cubes, show in a visual, educational way how these habitats work, the biodiversity they support and the benefits they provide: protecting riverbanks from erosion, cooling the water with their shade, improving water quality and sheltering plants and animals. Aimed at the general public, it encourages shared responsibility for conserving these ecosystems, which are among those most altered by human activity. Free admission.
